How to get an Ancient item

Ancient items do not drop in the open world. Every one of them comes out of Kalima, and getting into Kalima means building the ticket first:

Farm Symbol of Kundun. Each symbol carries the level of the floor it opens. Which level you get depends on the level of the monster killed, not on the map — the server leaves the map column unrestricted and keys the symbol off the monster's level band instead.
Collect 5 symbols of the same level. They stack on their own and turn into a Lost Map of that level.
Drop the Lost Map on the ground — it is not used from the inventory. It opens a portal to the matching Kalima floor that stays open for 180 seconds and admits 5 characters.
Inside, either kill the regular monsters for a 0.01% Ancient chance, or kill the floor boss, which always drops.

Kalima is not a levelling map: experience is reduced by 80% and nothing drops there except Excellent and Ancient items. Excellent drops roll at most 2 Excellent options ("add"), at 0.5%-1%.

Those figures are a band rather than a fixed number because the chance scales with the monster: within a floor, the stronger the monster, the higher its drop chance sits inside the band. Regular monsters drop an Ancient piece at 0.01%; the floor boss always drops at least one item, so the boss is the reliable route and the mobs are the lottery.

The boss of floors 1 to 6 is called Illusion of Kundun — six different monsters sharing one name, one per floor, at levels 52, 65, 81, 100, 117, 140. Kundun himself only stands on Kalima 7.

How the set effect completes
