What happens when a combination fails?

A failed combination can cost you the materials and the main item, depending on the recipe.

A failed combination can destroy or reduce the materials used.

What happens depends on the recipe. On Rex Mu, for instance:

• Item +10 to +15: the item is destroyed on failure, unless you use TCA (with TCA it drops to +0 or loses 1 level depending on the setup).
• Jewel of Life: on failure the item's additional option resets to 0, but the item does not break.
• Chaos Weapon: on failure the item loses a level or disappears.

Which is why, before combining anything valuable, it is worth checking:

• The success odds.
• What protection is available (TCA).
• The costs.
• What is lost if it fails.
