What is the difference between HP, MP and SD?

HP is health, MP is Mana, and SD acts as an extra shield in the combat system.

HP is the character's health.

MP is Mana, spent casting skills.

SD (Shield Defense) acts as an extra layer of protection in combat and matters especially in PvP.

A balanced build has to account for all three.
