What does raising an option with Life mean?

The Jewel of Life can raise an item's additional option level when the combination succeeds.

Applying a Jewel of Life to a compatible item can raise the value of its additional option.

On Rex Mu the base success chance with a Jewel of Life is confirmed at 60%. If it fails, the item's option drops.

Which is why it is not worth pouring a lot of Life into temporary items.
