Sockets and harmony options are what separate high-end PvP builds.

• Sockets: put Gemstones into weapons and armour for bonuses like:
  • Damage increase.
  • Damage reduction.
  • Attack speed.
• Harmony options: added with a Jewel of Harmony in the Chaos Machine; they give things like critical damage, ignore defence and HP recovery.

PvP priority: damage reduction > attack speed > critical damage.
